Faith At Home

Sunday During Stay In Place

The ascension of Jesus is the observation of the gospel scriptures which describe Jesus going into the heavens after a 40 days of appearances post-resurrection. On May 24, we will study the story as it is told in Luke 24:44-53. As Jesus ascends he leaves his still disbelieving disciples with some advice: when you don’t know what to say, say you believe in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ.

The Church and COVID

Sisters and brothers, Cross Lanes United Methodist Church has temporarily suspended all activities in the church building through May 31.  Sunday services are being offered as Virtual Worship on our Facebook page and YouTube Channels. Watch on Sunday morning or anytime throughout the week. See the worship guide below to follow the order of service.

Thankfully, the building is not the church; we are the church, and faith is not canceled. To view Pastor Krysta’s meditation on this season of the church, click here.

Cross Lanes United Methodist Church remains an active faith community. We must be cautious, but we do not have to be afraid. We believe God is still at work, and we are praying about how we can practice social accompaniment in times of social distancing.

The staff and leadership are monitoring the recommendations of our local and national government officials and the guidance from the Center for Disease Control. We hope to be together soon, but understand that physically distant ministry is best for the collective good. While we are worshiping from home here are some resources you may find helpful.
