UMM Dinner/Meeting

October 10, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The United Methodist Men will be meeting at 6 p.m. for their monthly meeting/dinner. The men will be disturbing their funds as they do this time every year. The speaker for the evening will be WVU stand out athlete Chuck Kinder.

In January 1995, Chuck retired from a twenty-four year career in the United States Army with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During this period, he served as a personnel psychologist and more than a decade as a trainer for middle management Army officers. He graduated from the United States Army Command and General Staff College and served as instructor and adjunct faculty until his retirement.

Chuck was the General Manager of the Charleston Civic Center and Auditorium for six years during the construction of the $18,000,000 Civic Center Coliseum.

He, also, is remembered as the kicker/punter for the West Virginia University Mountaineer football team. He played in 31 games, scored more than 100 points in his career, and ranked among the top ten punters nationally. He is the only football player in NCAA history to wear the uniform number 100.

As a lifelong resident of the Kanawha Valley, Chuck and his wife, Rachel, are in their 52nd year of marriage. They have two sons, John and Dan, and four wonderful grandchildren.
