Sunday, April 21st Cross Lanes UMC hosted the Nine Rivers District Celebration of Mission Event.
The day began with a poverty simulation with Rev Mike Linger, director of the House of the Carpenter, Wheeling Island (one of the mission projects for the West Virginia Conference).
As people began to gather they also had an opportunity to learn more about missions and ministries across the West Virginia Conference. People from churches across the conference dropped off tangible goods and financial gifts for the Celebration of Mission Event.
