Church Mouse Grant Application 2023

Mission of The Church Mouse:
The mission of CLUMC Thrift Store is to serve the community of Cross Lanes and surrounding area by offering a place for donations of gently used merchandise and then selling at bargain prices in a clean store serviced by dedicated and courteous staff of volunteers. We pledge to use sound business practices. Any surplus funds will be dedicated to support mission projects of Cross Lanes United Methodist Church including youth mission programs and other charitable causes within the church and community as approved by the Thrift Store Board of Directors.

Eligibility:
Grants are made only to nonprofit organizations certified as tax exempt under Section 501©3 of the Internal Revenue Code and are classified as “not a private foundation” under Section 509(a). The Church Mouse does not make grants or loans to individuals.

Grant Schedule:
Grants are awarded the first Sunday of the month at the scheduled Board meeting. Completed applications must be received by The Church Mouse no later than the Friday prior to Sunday’s meeting.

Funding Guidelines:
Grant applicants must be operational as a 501© 3 non profit agency for at least one year. Applicants must have a specific project to fund and meet application requirement. The Church Mouse will not reward grants for rent, operating expenses, vehicle maintenance, salaries, or consulting fees. Applicants are eligible to receive funding no more than twice per calendar year. Grants will not exceed $2500 yearly. Previous recipients should not assume that funding is guaranteed from year to year.

You will be required to complete a follow-up document within one year following the distribution of funds.
